CTU Prayer Update: 2020-06-03
2020-06-03
Dear Prayer Warriors,
Thank you so much for keeping CTU in prayer during the trials and difficulties that are sweeping down on NYC and our entire nation. As I stated in previous texts the quarantine has proven to be both cumbersome and beneficial. On one hand it has become more difficult to meet with our contacts in person and now that NYC has an 8:00pm curfew due to the riots, it has become even more difficult to do our visits. On the other hand, the quarantine has enabled us to connect much more efficiently through social media and zoom. I’ve been in contact every night of the week doing Bible studies with Muslims who are interested in learning the Bible.
For example, last night Mostafa and I were connected for many hours screensharing our study in Luke 17. Mostafa had many questions about the second coming of Jesus which then took us to Matthew 24, Rev. 19, and several Old testament passages (Isa 9:6, Psa 110, etc). He was interested in learning the Jewish take on those passages that we Christians refer to as Messianic. That led to screen sharing videos on YouTube, screen sharing the Dead sea Scrolls on Kindle, “The Antiquities of the Jews” by Flavious Josephus a web browser, etc. All of this is much easier online than in person and I am convinced that God is using these online platforms to help in our ability to bring UPGs closer to Himself. I have had some significant Bibles studies with Hussein & his family (the Shiite Muslim from Lebanon), Mostafa, and Prodeep (the Bengali Buddhist Monk in Thailand).
Mursheda Parveen is also connecting with various responders to our Facebook ads on Sotyo Path. She has asked that we pray in particular for Jahid Hassan, Sayeed, Fazlul, Shakil, Mominul, Azhar, Mohammad Khan, Beauty, Maha, Rihana, and Fatima Khatun. If you have some time we would really appreciate it if you could hold these precious souls up in prayer.
For those who have been praying for Polash, his family was able to repair their home but he has not felt safe enough to return there yet himself. Please pray that he would be able to return quickly. The other believers that have come to the Lord in Bangladesh through our ministry are being discipled by the AOG church run by Pastor Zaman and Pastor Badol. These are Mustakin, Ahmend Raman, and Rafi.
You may also remember that Lydia (formerly Nimmi), who is working with Mursheda Parveen, brought a Bengali Muslim to the Lord by the name of Aman Ushan. Aman Ushan has brought another woman to the Lord named Lamisa Rhaman. Lamisa Rhaman is our newest believer, now 5 generations deep. Please pray for the discipleship of each of these new believers.
Please continue to pray for Ramzeya and the Turkish group. The quarantine has separated them and they have not met together in two months now.
Lastly, please visit our new website at www.ctunreached.com This site took a long time to put together and is designed specifically with you, our prayer partners, in mind.
May God bless each one of you & thank you so much for your prayers!
